LEAP employs people in a variety of roles varying from direct support professionals and house managers, to program administrators and administrative staff. We require that all employees are well-trained and prepared for whatever they might encounter professionally with safety as a major focus.

LEAP shares the Mandt philosophy of gradual intervention to assist people when dealing with a stressful situation. Mandt is built on approaching a situation with dignity and respect. Each staff member is trained in this approach and its adoption is critical for all employees.

The leadership of LEAP encourages and mandates ongoing training and education for staff members in order for them remain informed.

 Direct Support Professional

LEAP is seeking staff with excellent communication skills, dedication and advocacy potential to support individuals with cognitive and intellectual disabilities.  

Are you a patient, compassionate and dedicated person who can be a team player or a highly responsible individual, who is looking to expand your skills & training?  This could be the opportunity you have been seeking!  Prior experience working with individuals with cognitive & intellectual is preferred, but not mandatory.

Ideal current certifications:  CNA, MANDT, CRMA and DSP.  LEAP provides free training for all staff members on these and other certifications.

All candidates must demonstrate:  motivation & compassion, an eagerness to continually improve skills & training, a High School Diploma or GED, be at least 18 yrs. of age, and have a Maine driver’s license with a safe driving record. 

 Training can begin immediately.

LEAP is seeking a community member to join our team who has excellent communication skills, dedication and advocacy potential to support people with cognitive & intellectual disabilities to live in their own homes and be active in their community. 
 
Prior experience working with individuals with cognitive & intellectual disabilities is preferred. 
Experience in American Sign Language a definite plus. Ideal current certifications: CPR, DSP, MANDT, CRMA.  LEAP will provide these trainings for a qualified individual.

Friday 6am-9:30am
