Ellie has lived in Maine since her college days at the University of Maine at Orono. She continued her education and has worked in area schools as a school counselor. Currently, Ellie is the owner of Duley College Counseling, LLC and helps high school students and their families navigate the college process. She has two sons, one of whom is a teacher in the Boston Public School System. The other is a non-verbal young man with autism. It is with her younger son that Ellie began her education in the world of disabilities and advocating as a parent as well as for all people with intellectual disabilities. In her spare time Ellie can be seen walking her Newfoundland, Camden, around Farmington, on the slopes at Sugarloaf where she has spent many years attending and volunteering for the Special Olympics, or puttering in her perennial garden.
