I have worked at LEAP since 2010, having started in Home Supports as a Direct Support Professional in Madison. Then I became the Program Supports 1 for the TFR2 program, and am now the House Manager for TFR2.I have worked as a CNA, as a Med Tech in a nursing home, and then at the Strong Nursing Home with handicapped children. I then ran a licensed daycare for 12+ years, while raising children, doing foster care, and homeschooling. I worked as an Ed Tech at the Strong School in a self-contained room for children with special needs for 12 years before coming to LEAP. I also do shared living and respite care for adults in my home.
My husband Larone and I have been married for 35 years, and we have 9 children, adopting 5 through foster care. My youngest just graduated from high school and is headed to college in the fall to pursue a nursing career. I now also have 4 grandchildren. When I am not working I like to spend time with my children and grandchildren, I am an avid knitter, and love to read, kayak, and swim. Also enjoy spending time with my furbabies; I have 4 dogs and 2 cats…my children like to say that as they leave, I am replacing them with animals. On Sundays, I love to cook dinner for any family members that are in the area. |
