LEAP is currently seeking an experienced Human Resource Director to support the evolving personnel needs of a growing organization. The candidate should have a background in personnel management and advocacy.

The HR Director role will include, but is not limited to employee relations, recruitment, benefit administration, employment law, performance management, human resource communications and policy. This position is a part of the Senior Leadership team.


  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations
  • Manage the recruiting and onboarding process. Assist in new staff orientation as assigned.
  • Administer all aspects of benefits, including leading the annual renewal decision making process.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day to day management of employees.
  • Guide managers performance management (Coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, career development.)
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation and ensure adherence. Research evolving employment law as it applies.
  • Oversee worker’s compensation, OSHA compliance and Chairs the Safety Committee.
  • Assist in processing payroll working closely with the Finance department.


  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, advise and consult with others.
  • Skilled in presenting a broad range of human resources support to leadership.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and organizational goals.
  • A demonstrated ability of working in a fast-paced environment with proficiency in meeting the shifting priorities.
  • Highly organized and motivated.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Maine Driver’s License with a record that meets LEAP’s Driving Policy Guidelines.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business management or Human resources preferred. Master’s degree a plus. Associate’s degree certifications and/or years of experience will be considered.


At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources required, 5 plus years preferred. Background working for a non-profit is helpful.

Full-time Case Manager

  • Identify, obtain and monitor services and connect members to community resources


  • Ability to work independently to meet caseload assignments, deadlines and organizational goals.
  • Highly organized and motivated.
  • The willingness to travel in the assigned regional area to complete caseload assignments.

LEAP is hiring Direct Support Professionals!
Pandemic sign-on bonus, flexible scheduling and paid training!

We are paying a $250 sign-on bonus for multiple part-time and full-time openings. $250 will be given after completion of orientation with an additional bonus after 6 months of employment.

In addition, DSPs will receive temporary stabilization pay for all hours worked once hired.

The Residential Programs at LEAP are seeking people to join our team of Direct Support Professionals (DSP) who have excellent communication skills, dedication and advocacy potential to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live actively in their community.

If you’ve been looking to make a difference with your work but weren’t sure where to start, you’ve come to the right place.

Becoming a Direct Support Professional means not only making a difference in someone else’s life, but also in your own.

Prior experience in the field is preferred and proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus in some residential homes. Certifications in CPR, Direct Support Professional, MANDT and CRMA are ideal, but not required. LEAP will provide paid trainings upon hire for those who do not have experience. All candidates must demonstrate: Motivation and compassion, the ability to work within a team environment, a cooperative spirit and an eagerness to continually improve skills & knowledge.

• At least 18 years of age
• Valid Maine driver’s license with a safe driving record
